Semarang, November 13, 2024 – A team of lecturers from the Fisheries Product Technology Program, led by Mrs. Lukita Purnamayati, S.TP., M.Sc, along with team members Prof. Dr. Ir. Eko Nurcahya Dewi, M.Sc, Mr. Ir. Sumardianto, PG. Dipl., M.Gz, and Dr. Putut Har Riyadi, S.Pi., M.Si, carried out a community service initiative at UD Putri Laut, located on Jl. Tanggungrejo Raya, Kemijen, Semarang. This activity was conducted to support the local business of bandeng presto (pressure-cooked milkfish).

In an effort to enhance the competitiveness of local products, the Fisheries Product Technology team provided guidance on obtaining BPOM (Indonesian Food and Drug Authority) distribution permits for bandeng presto. This mentoring aims to help increase the market value of bandeng presto produced by UD Putri Laut. With the BPOM permit, public trust in the product is expected to grow, potentially leading to increased sales and revenue.

This community service initiative is supported by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at Diponegoro University, reflecting the university’s commitment to making tangible contributions to society and improving quality of life through local economic empowerment. The program is expected to assist UD Putri Laut in advancing its business and supporting economic growth in the region.
