Semarang, September 26, 2024 – The Fisheries Product Technology Program at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) recently organized a public lecture titled “Fisheries Product: A Perspective on Food Security and Halal”. The event was held as part of the program’s efforts to broaden students’ understanding of the importance of fisheries products in ensuring food security and addressing halal aspects within the industry. The lecture took place at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, UNDIP, Semarang, and featured Dr. Noor Faizul Hardy Nordin from the International Islamic University Malaysia as the keynote speaker.

Students attending the lecture showed great enthusiasm and actively participated in the Q&A session. Many expressed interest in learning more about sustainable food security and how the fisheries industry can contribute to global food resilience.

The program hopes that such public lectures will continue to be held regularly to enrich students’ knowledge and prepare them to tackle future challenges in the fisheries industry. Through this event, the Fisheries Product Technology Program at UNDIP reaffirmed its commitment to producing highly competent graduates in the field of fisheries, equipped with expertise in technology, food security, and halal compliance.
