Semarang, October 30, 2024 – In an effort to enhance understanding of food safety in the fisheries sector, the Fisheries Product Technology Program at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University, successfully organized a webinar titled “Food Safety from Microbiology and Biochemistry Approach.” The virtual event was attended by students, academics, and professionals from various backgrounds with an interest in food safety.

The webinar featured experienced speakers in the fields of food safety and marine biotechnology, who provided in-depth insights into food safety threats and their impact on the quality of fisheries products. The speakers also shared the latest advancements in food safety research, including effective methods for detecting and preventing contamination.

In his opening remarks, the Head of the Fisheries Product Technology Program emphasized that the webinar was part of ongoing efforts to improve food safety literacy among students, particularly in the management of fisheries products. “A strong understanding of food safety aspects in fisheries product processing is crucial to ensure that the products are safe and of high quality for consumers,” he stated.

The event saw high levels of enthusiasm from participants, as evidenced by the lively interactive discussion session. Many attendees raised questions about contamination detection techniques in fisheries products, as well as how to identify and control risk factors within the food production chain.
